At Beddoe Court Nursing Home, we provide a specialist, recovery-focused environment tailored to adults living with severe, complex, and enduring mental health needs. Our care goes beyond symptom management—we support individuals to regain control, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward a more independent life.
Our home is registered for mental health nursing, with a dedicated multidisciplinary team available 24/7. Every shift is supported by at least one qualified nurse, ensuring constant access to expert clinical care. Our team includes mental health and general nurses, occupational therapists, recovery workers, and support staff—all working together to deliver individualised, person-centred support.
We use the I-ROC (Individual Recovery Outcomes Counter) model to develop bespoke care plans tailored to each resident’s goals and strengths. Whether it’s managing daily routines, reconnecting with community activities, or planning for future transition, we focus on what’s next in the recovery journey—not starting over, but building on what’s already been achieved.
Our newly renovated facilities are designed to support both care and independence. With ensuite bedrooms, two kitchens (including a therapy kitchen), communal lounges, and step-down spaces for transition, our environment mirrors real life—giving residents the tools and confidence to develop practical life skills like cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and shopping.
We believe that engagement with the wider world is vital for recovery. That’s why we maintain close ties with local colleges, community projects, and volunteering opportunities. Our in-house transport helps residents stay active and connected, whether it’s attending external activities or participating in social outings.
At Beddoe Court, we believe that meaningful occupation is at the heart of recovery. That’s why we offer a wide range of daily activities designed to build confidence, encourage independence, and create a sense of purpose and enjoyment.
Our team organises varied daily sessions tailored to resident interests and goals. From creative arts and crafts to cooking groups, board games, music, and gentle exercise, there’s always something to take part in. Residents are encouraged to suggest new ideas, and activities are regularly adapted to reflect their evolving needs and preferences.
Just a short walk from the home, our dedicated allotment offers residents a peaceful outdoor space to grow their own fruit, vegetables, and flowers. It’s a chance to connect with nature, learn new skills, and be part of a shared, rewarding project.
We work closely with local groups, colleges, and volunteering schemes to provide opportunities for residents to step back into the wider world at their own pace. Whether it’s helping with local events, pursuing education, or attending workshops, we actively support community involvement as part of the recovery journey.
We recognise that everyone’s needs and energy levels are different. Our high staff-to-resident ratio ensures that participation is supported and encouraged in a way that feels safe, positive, and empowering for each individual.
We specialise in caring for those with long and enduring mental health conditions and help improve lives that are entrusted with us to progress in a way that means progress for them.
Pathway nursing means no matter what level you are at with recovery, we will look at the next step. Whether that means progressing to a point to enjoy life more and stay with us, or we work with you to get to the next step. That could mean a less supportive environment or living independently.
No. We care for those ages 18 onwards.
We have at least one nurse working 24 hours per day, with day shifts set at 2. This means we consistently have 7 members of staff directly working with residents in the day and 3 at night. Our staff team consists of clinical lead, manager, governance role, occupational therapist, activity coordinators, dedicated recovery worker, driver, maintenance, cleaners & cook.
The building has recently been renovated to have modern facilities such as Wi-Fi & Sky TV, whilst also creating a ‘home’ feeling. The facilities offer our staff team to cater for all needs of our residents but we also replicate all facilities so individuals can pick up the skills to do this for ourselves, such as our therapy kitchen.
We offer activities daily outside of the home and activities in the home. We try to make lives as fulfilled as possible and have our own transport and driver to facilitate this. We hold regular residents’ meetings and ask those that are with us that they would like to do.
